POWER QUALITY ANALYSIS
Measurement of performance

As the second module  of  ONS (Operador do Sistema Elétrico Brasileiro – Brazilian Rules) procedures;
Where are performed: Power Line, Energy Billing, feeders, etc..
• Measurement of Power Factor;
• Harmonic Distortion;
• Harmonic Current;
• Voltage unbalance;
• Flicker.
• Installation services and programming of the measuring instrument;
• Hire the right tool for the measurement campaign;
• Preparation of spreadsheets with the results obtained, as established by the ONS;
• Period of 7 consecutive days;

• Instruments programmed to acquire data related to the phenomena of fluctuation, imbalance and harmonic distortion using the methodology described in "Defining the methodologies and procedures required for the measurement campaigns of performance indicators" of ONS;
• Signs of transformers in the location of the instrument;
• Cables for connecting the instrument to transformer should follow the standards of the local;
• A survey of frequency response curve of transformer;
• The instrument is powered by the battery bank or conditioned voltage source (UPS). Power supply(125 Vdc, 127 Vac or 220);
• Results obtained in measuring are provided in spreadsheet format (MS Excel), according to the ONS specification  - File consists of spreadsheets, the document "Defining the methodologies and procedures required for measurement performance indicators ", prepared by the ONS;
• Instruments week approved testing for power quality meters, held by the ONS at the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia.

Key features of the instruments:

7600

• Microprocessor Meter with 4 voltage inputs and 5 of chain. Input voltage to 600 volts and current up to 5 amps. Communication interface, two RS-485, an optical Ethernet panel. Eight digital inputs for pulse counting, checking status and trigger functions. Seven digital outputs for control functions and remote control, two for four for electromechanical relays and solid state relays. LCD display with backlight. Record data memory with intervals of up to 8.3 milliseconds. Power supply of 84 or 110 to the 270Vac 300Vdc automatic selection. Modular programming structure giving the equipment virtually endless tasks of measurement, analysis and control. Measuring Voltage, Current, Power, Power Factor, Frequency, Energy, Demand, harmonic distortion of order up to 63 (256 samples per cycle), data memory, record measurements and events, maximum and minimum. Communication protocols ION, DNP 3.0 and MODBUS RTU.

Power Quality Functions:

• Harmonics: up to 127th order through software - Individual, Even, Odd, Total, K-Factor and Crest Factor;
• Voltage dips and peaks (Sag / Swell) - 0.5 cycle;
• Disturbance: 96 cycles;
• Transients: 65 microseconds (256 samples / cycle);
• Flicker - Pst and Plt;
• Sampling rate: 256 / cycle;
• Memory: 4 Mbytes.
